This study emphasizes the importance of groundwater in Africa amid its rising demand due to population growth and economic development. Accurate estimation of groundwater recharge is crucial. Understanding groundwater usage and its contribution is vital for sustainable water management. Using soil moisture data from Benin, the study estimates groundwater recharge over a decade, revealing a decreasing trend, indicating the need for sustainable utilization strategies. Future research will explore sustainable usage methods considering excessive human extraction, essential for future water resource management.
