Gaku ONODERA Study on Small-Scale Tsunami Prediction Based on Tsunami Simulation of the 2019 offshore Yamagata earthquake Takaaki IKEDA Many earthquakes with tsunamis have occurred, including the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake. The reconstruction of these tsunamis is based on the runup height as the evaluation criterion. However, when the distance from the epicenter to the land area is close, it is important to reproduce tsunamis focusing on the tsunami waveform and arrival time. In this study, we simulate tsunamis caused by the 2019 offshore Yamagata Prefecture earthquake, and discuss the influence of modeling the epicenter on the prediction of small tsunamis.
