Study of the Nagaoka city old Nakajima water purification plant water tower judging from history of concrete technology
Takumi SHIMOMURA
Water tower in the water service park of Nagaoka city is a reinforced concrete structure. It was designed in 1922 and was completed in 1927. It was used until Nakajima water purification plant driving stop of 1993 as waterworks facilities of Nagaoka city.
In the present that passed from the completion in 89, it is used as some facilities of the water service park. This was registered with a tangible cultural property in 1998, so it is a cultural valuable building.
It is that the study purpose compares a technique of the construction with a current design in those days and considers it.
By the reproduction calculation from a design check, the calculation method that did not consider earthquake vibration became clear. And in the inspection of the design check construction technique, it was confirmed now in those days that instrumentations were greatly different.
We performed an earthquake-resistant design by the current design by all means, but it was not performed by the design at the time of the construction. So I examined the safety for moment of bending, shear power, and quantity of lateral direction reinforcing rod with ¡ÆEarthquake-resistant performance collation by the current Indispensability Surrender Seismic intensity spectrum¡Ç.
As a result, it isn¡Çt satisfied of safety check for quantity of lateral direction reinforcing rod, but it is satisfied of safety check for moment of bending and shear power.
It has enough durability with design not to consider earthquake vibration and construction technology with a machine inferior to the present. So it is thought that this was built at a high technical level
