In recent years, declining the total population and increasing the elderly population of local cities caused the bus routes with a little profit and low level of service to be abolished. It generates the difference of movement behaviors among people who own a private car and who do not own a one. As a countermeasure, the demand-traffic that runs according to the user reservation has been introduced. This caused to increase the frequency of movements and, thereby, have contributed to the revitalization of the region.
However, many researchers have mentioned that there are problems such as "high operating cost" and "less number of shared-taxi users¡É. In this context, I perceived that it is necessary to provide a sustainable service to increase shared-taxi users. Sharing is a key factor to keep the public transportation in rural area with low demand. In this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey for users of shared taxi named "Hime sayuri" in order to clarify their acceptance for rideshare with strangers. About 80 % of users are affirmative for rideshare with stranger but some users have strong resistance for different gender and delay cause by matching.
We performed discrimination analysis and obtained the results that users who did not satisfy with their current fare or who went to hospital preferred rideshare.
We also developed conjoint analysis and obtained the results that male users cared the fare and delay and female users cared the gender of shared stranger.
