Development of the synthetic method of the DDR type zeolite membrane by changed the solvent.

Separation of CO2 from natural gas or the biogas has been used the absorption method, the adsorption method, and the low temperature separation method. However, those method are need many energy. Therefore in recent years, separation method used zeolite membrane which has high heat resistance and pressure resistance and energy saving is noticed as innovative CO2 separation technology. The membrane separation method is separation method that a device and facilities are compact. In this laboratory, it is focusing on DD3R zeolite membrane as suitable separation membrane for separation of CO2 and CH, and this study is carried out aimed at commercialization. We previously reported that DD3R zeolite crystal and membrane could be synthesized by used solvent of potassium fluoride.
I expanded the synthetic range of the DD3R zeolite membrane using the potassium fluoride in this study. Moreover, I found the composition which could be reduced the structure agent and the solvent at the synthesis of DD3R zeolite membrane. The membrane ,which had CO2 permeance of 1.6~2.3 ×10-7Mol/m2・s・Pa and separation factor 408~422, was obtained by prepared this condition. This is membrane performance as same as previous prepared membrane. DD3R zeolite crystal and membrane was synthesized by used other alkali metal halide. As a result, as-synthesized crystals were mixed-crystal with SGT zeolite crystal and pure DD3R crystal couldn’t be synthesized. However, we found that pure DD3R crystal could be synthesized by added NaOH water solution at the crystallization.
DD3R zeolite was synthesized by used potassium fluoride, and by low-structure-directing agent and low solvent. Synthesis membrane which don’t use solvent by refer to this composition was done, and we found composition which can synthesize membrane in this work.
In this work, we found that condition of synthesis membrane at solvent-free. In addition, synthesis of all silica ZSM-58 zeolite crystal is carried out in this laboratory. Therefore, it was suggested to be able to synthesis of DD3R zeolite membrane by using this all silica ZSM-58 crystal.
