In recent years, the coastal area of Niigata Prefecture increasing demand for marine recreation along with the sophistication of land use, has been enjoyed by many people. However, unending beach accident while bathing in the sea every year. This time, you provide the accident information from the Japan Coast Guard Ninth District. According to it, an accident which is considered to be due to the rip current was found to have occurred at a quarter of the total beach accidents. Also most accidents often by classifying the Niigata Prefecture in four areas have been found to be a Kaetsu region. Also, when we examine the coast of an accident has occurred coastal structures such as jetties and detached breakwaters have been found. Many of the rip current generation accident of Niigata prefecture I found that has occurred in the vicinity of Donggang Niigata.
Therefore, we observed a rip current dynamics of in Ajirohama beaches in Niigata Donggang nearby, and tried to grasp the rip current occurrence of Niigata Prefecture, Japan. Time study but was a greater state than the wave height at the time of bathing, the width of the surf zone reversed is also increased, it is considered that scale larger rip current than normal has occurred. In addition, wave direction is NNW, with a coast on the back and the incident wave from the right front, in the vicinity of the convex portion of the sand away about 200m from the left side of the jetty to the right direction, the left front by the coast to the back towards the rip current is generated it was also confirmed by visual inspection. Further, rip current has occurred toward the vicinity of the base offshore in the vicinity of the jetty. This occurrence location rip current terrain features and wave conditions at the pin point can be the identified survey was further rip current can grasp the flow regime can be visualized.
