Study on City Planning Area Reorganization towards Urban Shrinkage

This study aims to consider the methodology of reorganization towards the consolidating type city when City Planning Area is reorganized under population decrease.We extract for the Matsumoto city, Utsunomiya City, and Sagamihara City, that has had both Area Divided City Planning Area and the zoning area in Non-Area Divided City Planning Area concomitantly by the merger.As a result, we clarify that there is a considerable difference in the reorganization method and the counter measures after reorganization by the situation of the city and the situation in the zoning area.We hope that by examining the reorganization, the city comes out in the future by referring to City Planning Area organazation with reducing the zoning area of Matsumoto City and Utsunomiya City .Moreover, a careful examination for application is necessary for the counter measures after the city planning area reorganization.
