Basic research for the beach by accident probable cause rip current in Ishikawa Prefecture Uchinada coast

INUKAI Naoyuki

In recent years, demand as a place for marine recreation is increasing Ishikawa Prefecture. But also many water accidents, serious accidents also no end to every year after. There is away shore flow as a factor of the accident of bathing in the sea, by the strong flow of offshore direction to the rip current, it is believed that wave conditions and terrain is the main cause. The purpose of this study was to investigate the accident beach in Ishikawa Prefecture, including the Uchinada beaches as target Uchinada beach, to elucidate the mechanism of the rip current from the conditions at that time. To summarize the beach accident in Ishikawa Prefecture, central area of damage was significant. When examining the coast of Chubu, it was found that the terrain rip current is likely to occur, and has a location. I then discussed from various points of view the rip current accident Uchinada coast. Wave from the north-northwest are most common wave direction of the rip current occurs, north-northwest Because of the dominant wave direction of Kanazawa Port summer off, rip current that occurs in waves flowing on a daily basis I can be considered. Wave height of an accident is a peaceful, I found that the rip current is generated in the gentle waves. Then from terrain data of Uchinada coast, I have to understand the flow velocity distribution and trend of the wave entering the coast. A result, I found that even when the low wave height, near the breakwater is dangerous. In conclusion, accident in Uchinada coast there are many in Ishikawa Prefecture, the accident had occurred in the gentle waves on a daily basis. Therefore, the accident should be noted likely to occur at all times. Further, since the flow is complicated in the vicinity of offshore structures, do not swim at or near is important. It is necessary that as an issue in the future, and conducted field observations, to elucidate the rip current.
