Effect and Problem of City Center Activation Plan of Nagaoka City

This study pays attention to the method for increase of visitors in the city center activation plan of Niigata Prefecture Nagaoka City and clarifies the effect and problem given to the central area. We clarify the following points.
Building communal facilities becomes the chance of visit and makes a big effect to an increase of visitors. Moreover, it is effective as measures to stop the decline of urban area indirectly.
However, the effect of an increase of visitors doesn't necessarily spread to the entire central area. For activating, the mechanism to moving around the central area such as planned building usage location by the city block unit] and [effective use of parking is necessary.
