Surface chloride ion concentration distribution of concrete structures by snow melting agent

Takumi Shimomura

Recently, the case of concrete structures due to chloride attack snow melting agent is more likely to occur. Characteristics of chloride attack with snow melting agent, it receives a supply of chloride ions of high concentration to focus for a short period in winter, that of damage is limited to the near point scattering location and flow of roadway drainage, and the like. Therefore, when compared to the salt damage by airborne salt that chloride ions are constantly supplied, it is difficult to study the deterioration point of the steel for chloride attack occurs locally. We must be measured the surface chloride ion concentration distribution simply appearance even when there is no deformation, to the study of deterioration point. In this study, we have examined the measurement of surface chloride ion concentration distribution.
We conducted a laboratory experiment first. Experiment that simulates the supply of salt by the snow melting agent and simulated airborne salt experiment, we examined the measurement of surface chloride ion concentration distribution of the concrete. Then, we conducted a survey of surface chloride ion concentration distribution of concrete structures subject to chloride attack by snow melting agent. As a result, the surface chloride ion concentration was determined by the amount of chloride ion is measured by cutting the concrete surface, minus the amount of chloride ions that are attached to the surface on the extension of chloride ion concentration distribution within the be a value close to the surface chloride ion concentration to be identified was confirmed. Wipe off surface, it is possible to detect the position of high surface chloride ion content of the structure subject to chloride attack the snow melting agent.
