The characteristic of flood field and riverbed change in Ookoudu-bunsuiro

Tokuzou HOSOYAMADA

Ookoudu-bunsuiro is an unnatural river located in the near of Niigata prefecture¡Çs center, and Shinano river extremely come near to Sea of Japan. This river¡Çs length is about 10km meters. Ookoudu-bunsuiro has two different points from generalized river. This river has some problems looked from to the Flood-control of view. This river¡Çs width of down stream is more the narrow than one of upper stream, and slope gradually steep for way of flow. Therefore, the serious problem happen when the flood comes to Shinano river, riverbed is downed by more faster water velocity.

In this study, we performed analysis that the sediment transport and landscape evolution in Ookoudu-bunsuiro. By the way, this river¡Çs hydrograph of a season has two type of flow during a year. Type of 1 is the flood made by the typhoon and more during summer. Type of 2 is the flood made by the thaw. Therefore Purpose of this research is to grasp the characteristic of flood field and riverbed change in Ookodu-bunsuiro.

As a result of this research, we grasp two important something to solve that problems.
First, the shape for traverse is became like a ¡ÈW¡É by water flow both types
Second, the effect of type2 is more effective for the riverbed than one of type 1.
In this study, we don¡Çt consider two important things. First, we don¡Çt consider the Suspended Sediment that flow from Shinano river. By Todo¡Çs research, the amount of Suspended Sediment that flow from Shinano river during a year is about 56million ~62million m3. The amount of one more effects for flood field and riverbed change in Ookoudu-bunsuiro. Second, this time analysis¡Çs materials of riverbed is 0.06mm. generally river¡Çs materials isn¡Çt same sizes. so we should consider the riverbed materials distribution.
