House damage analysis based on the instrumental seismic distribution of wide area measurement in Niigata Chuetsu, the Chuetsu offing earthquake.

In Japan of an earthquake power, the massive earthquake has so far received much damage, such as house collapse. The improvement in minimizing future seismic damage from experience of old seismic damage, namely, earthquake disaster prevention technology, is pressing need. In recent years, maintenance of seismic damage data was also advanced and the detailed analysis using geographic information was attained.
In this research, building damage analysis using a geographic information system was conducted from the data obtained by Niigata Chuetsu and the Chuetsu offing earthquake. The feature of this research is that it conducted correlation analysis of the "seismic character" which is an important factor, a "regional peculiarity", and the "building characteristic", respectively, in order to predict house damage. The ease of winning popularity of the damage caused by each characteristic in a mountain slope and a coastal plain was made clearer than an analysis result
