Examination about the feature grasp of the forest composition by laser scanner observational data

Atsushi RIKIMARU Kazuyoshi TAKAHASHI

In recent years, in the forest, monitoring of the forest which is a measurement science measurement item is actively performed for wood part factors (area, tree height, a caespitose situation, tree species, etc.). The area of a trees group, tree height, a caespitose situation, and tree species are investigated by the visual decipherment and the field survey by an aerial photograph by the trees group luxuriant growth form investigation to which the caespitose situation of the trees in a forest is performed in advance. However, it is difficult for there to be also problems, such as staffs, time, and cost, and to acquire the data of a wide area correctly in the investigation which goes out there. Moreover, although it was possible to have analyzed the data of a wide area in the analysis using an aerial photograph, it was difficult to conduct perpendicular analysis called the internal structure of tree height, tree crown form, and a forest. Furthermore, although forest inventory by airplane laser survey was performed, the present condition is that examination still sufficient about the possibility is not performed.
So, its attention was paid to the airplane laser survey which it is possible to acquire detailed data correctly in a wide area, and can analyze also by receiving perpendicularly in this research. The data acquired by airplane laser scanner observation can express the internal structure of a forest by a minute three-dimensional point group.
It aimed at generating the parameter for grasping the composition by carrying out layer classification of the forest for every height paying attention to the perpendicular distribution observation point based on aviation laser scanner observational data.As a result, the height from forest floor of aviation laser scanner observational data was divided into three layers for every 6 m, the point group ratio for every layer was computed as a high tree layer, middle tree layer, and a low tree layer, and the feature of the structure of a forest has been grasped by typification on a triangular coordinate by imaging and graphing. Moreover, the feature of the structure of a forest has been grasped by dividing the height from forest floor of aviation laser scanner observational data into ten layers for every 2 m, classifying into the class of 4 to 8 according to the cluster processing without a teacher, and analyzing the exclusive state of stratification of each class by it.
