Multi Agent Simulator Refuge Simulation for River Flooding
Tokuzo HOSOYAMADA
Rivers are indispensable because people deeply depend on their water resources. While the river provides us with the necessary domestic water for us, it may sometimes be a threat. In recent years, cloudburst in urban areas has increased, it has also damaged Niigata Prefecture. From these reasons, Government has created local hazard maps. However, it is pity that it doesn't show enough how rivers would flood. So I thought to simulate of the flooding rivers by using Google Earth and the Multi Agent System. Animating how rivers would flood, contributes to enhance their understanding of the flood damage of the people.
As a result of the execution of the process of incorporation inundation analysis created by the simulation model, we were able to output each step of the process state as an image file with the agent to act as flood evacuees.I also verified the I assumed two shelters for the rivers we are targeting.I also verified whether it is suitable as a shelter against the flooding of this time either. In case of the Kariyata River, the rate of damage was 37.4% for preschool and 45.8% for ministry. A preschool was more suitable than others as a shelter. In case of the Kaki River, the rate of damage was 16.3% for museum and 44.2% for City Hall. A museum was more suitable than others as a shelter. However, these results are only valid for this flooding analysis, don't always make good decisions that this shelter was suitable.Still, I believe that it can not become one of the criterion.Because each refugee could solve their best answers even under limited condition.
