Research on the development and seismic performance evaluation of structure-footing less bridge foundation

New pier structure is one of the pillars of using the shear panel and the four basic low-cost off-the-shelf steel pipe, having a function of the horizontal connecting damper history as a material in which they are proposed. This construction method was conceived based on use inexpensive material, effective use of steel history of decay, omission of anchor frame etc. We guess that the most appropriate foundation as the underlying structure of this pier is steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes. The advantage of this foundation is that Compact foundation work by footing less, low cost, reduce the side flow by liquefaction etc. At this study, we keep in mind that the most appropriate foundation as the underlying structure of this pier is steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes. We examined characteristics of horizontal resistance and seismic capacity by Tree-dimensional FE analysis. We compare two cases that the case of using steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes as the bridge foundation and the case of using group pile that common foundation as the bridge foundation. And we aimed at the development of more rational foundation by improving steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes. As a result, we got the following findings. 1) In the group pile foundation and steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes deformation mode when horizontal load is applied is different. 2) Steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes is the underlying structure can leverage the power increase to exert per pile, and it is a more rational foundation to pursue compared to the group pile foundation. 3) Structure become more reasonable basis to make improvements to strengthen the section of steel pipe pile foundation in Steel pipe pile foundation supporting integrated column by multiple steel pipes. So, we proposed two type improvements. One is subjecting solidification improvements to surrounding soil of pile. Two is increase the portion of wall thickness to be increased to extend the joints of columns and piles. As result, if the load is acting statically improve the horizontal resistance could be confirmed. But, if dynamic loads such as ground motion acting, necessarily can not confirm the effect of improving horizontal resistance. The Static and dynamic horizontal resistance characteristics are depends, so at the time of design of the structure is necessary for Verification by Dynamic Analysis.
