Growth management of paddy rice using a ground laser scanner with Diagonal measurement

Atsushi RIKIMARU Hiroki IRIE

Growth management of paddy rice is critical in the production from the rice planting to heading. Water management and fertilization management of paddy field is important as the paddy rice growth. The measurements are widely used in rice growing practices as a diagnostic technique; it is difficult to measure a wide area. Measurement practices in order to measure the specific rice, you can't get information for only the part of the field. Therefore, it is important to know the state of the entire growth of the rice field is difficult, the development of growth diagnostic method has been desired the entire field. In this study, measuring diagonally across the field by a the ground laser scanner, obtained data for the entire field. We investigated the grasp of rice growth state used a laser data. Period of late August from mid-June, measure the field diagonally by a ground laser scanner. In addition, measurement practices also conducted in parallel, and obtains data of paddy Rice height. Compared to the laser measurement data time series, we examine differences in results due to the difference in the data analysis and model acquisition by comparison with conventional diagnostic methods growth. In addition, to consider the possibility of understanding the growth state of paddy rice in the diagonal measurement using a laser scan data as additional information for the measurement practices. Was able to find the relationship between height and Rice Canopy of measurement data in the vertical direction in the field. In addition, the difference between the laser scanner is installed at a height above ground, heading until the time period between the share of paddy rice are filled, may be able to obtain three-dimensional information about a single strain of rice has been shown. Suggested that things were a valid means of measurement for rice growth monitoring of laser scanner measurements.
