In Japan now, due to the increased aging bridges, it is important to maintain. However, it is difficult for local governments. In the present study to investigate the actual condition of maintenance of government in Niigata Prefecture, for the purpose of finding the most effective approaches and future challenges. Survey methods, surveys, interviews, and field survey.
Lack of budget and lack of engineer and lack of technology became clear by having interviewed and a questionnaire. Furthermore, the bridge transferred from the country to the self-governing body is regarded as a reason suppressing the maintenance of the self-governing body. It is a future research theme of investigation about the number of transferred bridges and the deterioration situation.
A policy of the future of the self-governing body is to submit a budget to a high bridge of the importance intensively and perform repair of the prevention maintenance premeditatedly
