Expansion and Improvement of Model of Water Content Prediction in Concrete
Takumi SHIMOMURA
Water transport in concrete is concern drying shrinkage, chloride damage and frost damage. It is important for predicting durability of concrete structure to predict water content in concrete. Model of water content prediction in concrete was also suggested by previous research. The purpose of this study is to expansion and to improve model of water content prediction in concrete.
First of all, in order to verify that the model of water content prediction can apply under actual environment, carried out exposure test and numerical analysis. As a result, generally analytical value accorded with experimental value. Therefore, it was shown that the model can apply under actual environment. And it was cleared that water transport in concrete was concerned variations of temperature in concrete.
In recent years, surface improvement materials were applied concrete structure for using long term. This material has resistance for water absorption and moisture permeability. These characteristics bring using long term for concrete structure. For enable to predict water content in concrete that were applied surface improvement materials, this research expanded the model of water content prediction.
Contact angle is different normal concrete and the concrete applied surface improvement materials. On the supposition that meniscus in capillary of concrete has same contact angle, improved capillary suction model. Expansion model was shown resistance for water absorption.
