Grasp the dynamics of rip currents that occur in Niigata Prefecture

Many people are coming to the seashore in summer to enjoy swimming and marine sports. However, serious accidents such as dead or missing have occurred in Japan every year. The seashore accident has a variety of factors. One of them is the rip current.ĦĦRip current study is still in development but, because of the risk of serious accidents involving human life, it is very important.
In this study, I aimed to grasp the waves and meteorology information to make the rip current measures of the accident. I divided Niigata Prefecture into four areas. And I analyzed the characteristic of the wave and the change in the accident by using NOWPHAS.
Results of the study, There were wave and meteorological change at the time of the rip current outbreak. I was able to confirm Characteristics of waves and accident prone areas in Niigata Prefecture
