Analysis and building collapse risk evaluation of building damage in the Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake

It is important to evaluate risk in the region overall to do disaster measures and the emergency restoration systematically. The occurrence of the massive earthquake will be feared in Japan in the future. This is being strongly recognized by the country and the municipality, and the movement is more active as making the hazard map public advances recently.
The present study arranged the damage data of the Chuetsu-oki Earthquake, and composed the data base of GIS. One of the results was to have composed this data base. In addition, the situation of the correlation with the shape of the ground classification and land and the building damage was analyzed by using the data base. It proposed the building risk evaluation model by reflecting these analysis results.
The cause of the improved damage was clarified by analyzing the building damage due to the earthquake. There is a lot of damage in the dune when the geomorphological map is overlapped with the damage distribution. However, the damage ratio is the highest in the low ground in the back marsh etc. In addition, the damage ratio is high in the point with a large vicinity of a geographic feature boundary and angle of gradient and curve. Moreover, the damage ratio is higher near the epicenter.
Even if the model is applied in which area, the result is shown with a general unit. This is a major plus. In addition, the point that adopts the ground amplification rate as one of the variables is a new attempt. And, it aimed at the accuracy improvement of the valuation modeling. However, there was a different part compared with the substantial damages situation. And, it is higher than a real value. It is future tasks to improve accuracy by improving the prediction method
