A study on recycling of low penetration asphalt based on a new index

Guided by Prof. Teruhiko MARUYAMA

It has been proposed that penetration of reclaimed asphalt should be more than 20. However, this standard is limited to straight asphalt, it can not be evaluate low penetration material like a modified asphalt. This study investigated whether the energy value of Force Ductility. Testing can be used as a new index for recycling of asphalt materials. It was confirmed that the energy value obtained from the Force Ductility Testing have a high correlation between the fatigue resistance of mixture property, it evaluates several type of recycled mixture's property indirectly. The present result suggested that the energy value of Force Ductility Testing can be used as a new index for recycling of asphalt materials. At this stage, the energy value of Force Ductility Testing is 800(N*mm) or more, reclaimed asphalt can be reuse.
