Possibility of the bicycle promotion of utilization of the commutation trip in the Nagaoka city zone

In our country, the dependence to automobile traffic is increasing every year, and various problems' involving a means of transportation is increasing seriousness in connection with it.Then, the bicycle is observed in city traffic now.As for the bicycle equipped with the characteristic which was excellent from viewpoints, such as environmental impact mitigation and national health enhancement, promotion of the further use is called for in future urban transport.In the local city where especially an automobile dependence is high, it is observed as a way stage of the control.
So, in this research, for Nagaoka-city, Niigata, a commutation situation questionnaire is carried out according to a "no-private car day" event, and the present condition of the bicycle traffic in a local city is grasped.Simultaneously, it works on the commutation means conversion action during a no private car day event period, and the possibility of the prospective promotion of bicycle use and the measure which will be needed from now on for the reason.From the commutation situation questionnaire, the actual condition that automobile dependence -- the automobile commuter in the present commutation action reaches to 90 percent -- was advancing increasingly became clear.this -- the pair was carried out, control of automobile dependence advance was planned and the "no-private car day" is set up once per year from the Heisei 13 fiscal year in Nagaoka-city.From the questionnaire result, as which many bicycles and car pools were chosen as a conversion place of the commutation means in an event period, and the commuter who experienced conversion were permitted generating of a certain amount of automobile use control intention.On the other hand, depending on the conversion means, the difference occurred in the commuter's degree of satisfaction.Thereby, the validity of a no private car day is proved,and, since the degree of conversion satisfactory of on foot or a bicycle was high, it became clear that it is desirable to recommend conversion for these means from no on.About the conversion intention to prospective bicycle commutation, more than the half answered that commutation by the bicycle was possible also by the other automobile commuter 70 percent or more by the person experienced in conversion in an event period among less than 12km automobile commuters according to conditions.
When the non-totaling action model was built and analyzed, it turned out for no private car day participating experience of the height of a commuter's automobile use control intention or the past to be effective in promotion of the conversion action to a no private car day.It became clear that thing . with effective run environmental management and highly efficient bicycle purchase assistance, in addition conversion experience to the bicycle in a no private car day period are more effective than a measure in respect of a measure about prospective bicycle conversion.Therefore, while raising civic automobile use control consciousness, a no private car event is made to permeate citizens.and,concluded by carrying out maintenance of the run environmental improvement of a bicycle, or a bicycle purchase auxiliary system when it was possible to have demanded conversion from a short-distance automobile commuter to bicycle commutation.
