Development of the occurrence criteria of a seismic sea wave and of propagationˇˇforecastˇˇmethod

A lot of people had been severely damaged in the tsunami because Japan is a seagirt country. The best measures for the tsunami can be taken if the propagation of the tsunami generated by the earthquake is simply expressible.
In this study, to develop The occurrence criteria of a seismic sea wave from the earthquake energy, and the method for simply doing the propagationˇˇforecast of the tsunami, the criteria by which the displacement magnitude in bottom of the sea necessary for the spread calculation of the tsunami was calculated from the earthquake energy was made, and it aimed at the confirmation that was able to use it for the propagation calculation of the tsunami.
First, it paid attention to the attenuation of the earthquake energy about the inclination of the relational expression of the hypocenter depth of the earthquake with tsunami occurrence that Noto proposed and the magnitude and it was explained by the theory. Next, the displacement magnitude in bottom of the sea was calculated by using the fault parameter. The displacement quantity of ground and the earthquake energy were in the correlation. And, it became to computable simply of the displacement quantity in ground. It was confirmed that there was a practicality by using the result for the propagationˇˇcalculation of the tsunami.
