Research on trial design of composite girder by allowable stress design method and limit state design method

Now,The cost reduction in the construction industry is demanded in Japan. And, it is the same also in the bridge construction. Moreover, the allowable stress design method(ASD) is used in Japan. But, the limit state design method(LSD) is used in the world.
Now,because business is bad, Japan is decreasing the investment of the construction business. Then, the advancement of the construction business to foreign countries is needed. But, whether it is possible to compete by the design method of Japan with the bridge design method of the world is principal concern. The change of the design method is necessary and indispensable to compete in development of Japan of the future, and to survive.
In this research I design a composite girder by using the allowable stress design method and the limit state design method. And I compare results by ASD and LSD
・The limit state design method was able to be reduced more than the allowable stress design method.
・Thickness and width of the under flange and thickness of web are influenced in the action strength.
