Analysis of high wave damage in northern part of Sadogashima in February, 2008.

High waves came to the Sea of Japan on February 23, 2008.The coast region northern part of Sadogashima in Niigata Prefecture received big damage because of the High waves.Washizaki, kitakoura, and Suitu in Sadogashima received damage because of the strong wind and, high wave the stricken area received big damage such as the injured person, the brouken house coast, and fishing boat,etc. because of the high wave.It is a major problem to restore the fishing port,etc where the damage region as it take a lot of time. For the inhabitant person to be relieved to the fishery region and to live, prompt restoration of the fishing port facilities etc. is requested.This study was calculated by using SWAN for the waves calculation.The study area from Sadogashima,sea of japan to the coast Niigata Prefecture the calculation time was February,2008.And,the wave hight, wave direction, and wave Period were analyzed by using the third generation wave spectrum models SWAN.The mechanism of high wave damege in the northern part of Sadogashima the porpose of this reseach is to analysis.
It is confirmed that of the costal of Niigata Prefecture simulation result is some with the real data. Which is taken from NOWPHAS.It was able to be confirmed that the simulation results has good accurary.Normally,the high wave doesn¡Çt occur of the study region due to barrier of sadogasima.this time,as long cicle wave occurred, high come to study region.The reason of occuring damage is that the direction of height wave occurred at Washizaki, kitakoura and suitu is NNE.More over,as it is long cicle wave,the wave height can¡Çt be decrease and big damage hit to fishing port
