Study on the Condition and Management of Flat Parking Lot of Central Area in Local Cities

This study aims to clarify universality of the parking lot problem of flat parking lot that increases rapidly at the central area in the local city, and to obtain the finding for the parking lot management in the future.
First of all, we understand the condition of flat parking lot in the central area (DID in 1970) for 20 cities making Shape-Up My Town plan. Next, we understand the recognition and counter measure to the parking lot in these 20 cities and 53 cities recognized as downtown activation master plan by the new law. And, we select Ohgaki City from the case study cities, and clarify the effect and problem of the parking lot measure.
As a result, we clarify that there are few cities where the detail information on the parking lot is collected, and that many cities emphasis on hourly parking space as the counter measure. Moreover, we can understand that the effect of the parking lot measure is small in the present stage.
