Evaluating influence of Oteohashi bridge at four lanes

Kazushi SANO

Nagaoka city has traffic congestion at the rash hour. Especially, Nagaokaohashi bridge, Tyousei bridge and Oteohashi bridge are serious. This study is examining for influence of Oteohashi bridge at four lanes to other bridges using the Paramics.
First process is making road network an object of the area on the Paramics. The network has 1541 nodes, 1909 links and 229 zones. The signal control data getting from Niigata police station and field research is inputted on the Paramics.
Next, we estimate a OD table each of time belts in the city. A detail OD table is necessary for performing the Paramics. We estimate OD table using the road traffic census. We distill a OD table each of time belts in the city from the road traffic census by B zone. That OD table sets to zone of the Paramics based on a land use map of the city and divides. And we distill a OD table each of time belts and prefecture to estimate a OD table of path trip. All over the country, main road network is made and multi-stage assignment method performed on the JICA STRADA.
Evaluating influence is done by comparing trip links time two lanes with four lanes. As to the traffic flow to Nagaoka station, a traffic jam is caused around Nagaoka station. The reason for this is increasing traffic that pass through Oteohashi bridge. Vehicle from route 8 to oteohashi bridge cut down the time and go smoothly. As to the traffic flow to outside of the coverage area, similarly, traffic increased. Accordingly, a traffic jam is caused on the west side of Oteohashi bridge.
