Analysis on Vehicle Behavior on Two Tentative Lane Freeway

Two tentative lane freeway have to follow running when a slow vehicle exists forward. As a result, running vehicle the loss of the travel time because on two tentative lane freeway is not possible to overtake. Overtake is prohibited on two tentative lane freeway. Added lane setting is effective measure on the section. In this paper, first, actual condition of vehicle behavior is clarified in added lane section by video image analysis. Second, the applicability to the actual measurement value of the simulation model developed in the urban traffic laboratory is verified. Finally, it analyzed on setting method of added lane by this simulation model.
