A basic study on the topographical failure analysis using DEM considering the slope profile characteristics

Atsushi RIKIMARU, Kazuyoshi TAKAHASHI

A lot of slope failures are generated and damage has expanded in the Mid Niigata Prefecture Earthquake in 2004. The reduction of damage can be expected by understanding the characteristic of the disaster generation part. As for the slope failure, it is thought the behavior to a slope direction of profile is shown, and the characteristic of the geographical feature element of the direction of profile is related as the primary cause of the slope failure. In the present study, it aimed to make the topographical classification chart that was able to become basic material for the presumption of the failure danger part in consideration of the slope profile characteristic, and a topographical factor on the slope failure ground was considered by the comparison between the classification chart and slope failures ground information.
Three slope profile characteristics of the slope failures ground were obtained by the present study. Moreover, it corresponded to the landslide of 50% or more as a result of designing the index based on the slope profile characteristic of the obtained slope failure ground, and trying the critical section presumption.
