Analysis of precipitation correction from long-time distributed snowmelt runoff analysis that uses distributed snowmelt runoff model
Minjiao LU
The snowpack is valuable and good quality water resource. But, on the other hand, becomes the factor of the disasters by the snowmelt runoff. Therefore, it is very important to understand the snowpack for a disaster prevention and effective water supply. Generally, the rainfall-runoff models use the observed precipitation at the rain gauge as input. However, there is a problem that the measurement of the correct precipitation is difficult by influence such as wind or the topography to a rain gauge. Also in the Saguri river dam basin, the study basin in this study, it is underestimated when comparing the observed precipitation within the basin with the inflow to the dam. Therefore, an accurate water resource of the basin cannot be understood.
In this study, the precipitation is corrected separately for the snowfall and the rainfall, and the necessity of the precipitation correction was analyzed from the result of the snowmelt runoff analysis. As a result, to match the water budget in the basin, it has been understood to have to correct the annual mean about 40% of the precipitation observed in the basin.
