Making of Avalanche Hazard Map on the Mid-Mountainous Area Used Numerical Analysis

Tokuzou HOSOYAMADA

In Japan, it has a very heavy snowfall area around the Sea of Japan side, and there are many dangerous areas such as e road blockage and the house collapse by the avalanche from winter to the early spring in Japan
In the old Yamakoshi village in Niigata Prefecture that is such an area of very heavy snowfall takes place a large-scale topography change because of the slope failure due to the Tyuuetu earthquake in 2004, and the occurrence of a further avalanche disaster is feared by the snowing on the unstable ground.
In the avalanche disaster, making the hazard map is enumerated as software measures.
In this research, the avalanche flow model is developed, and the making technique of the avalanche hazard map that reflected the flowing route and the runout distance of the avalanche obtained by the numerical analysis was examined.
