Analysis of Seismic Damage of Residential Area by The Mid Niigata Prefecture Earthquake in 2004 and The Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007

Satoru Ohtsuka

The full-fledged study on the disaster on the artificial ground etc. started with The Niigata Earthquake in 1964 and Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. A lot of seismic damage of residential area in the collapse and liquidizing the valley burial fill occurred in The Mid Niigata Prefecture Earthquake in 2004 and The Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007.
In this research, it was analyzed by the method of judging a dangerous part from the large range at the disaster prevention of liquidizing and large-scale housing land development ground using Sabaishigawa mouth of a river Inaba the district of The Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007 and Takamati apartment of a housing complex of The Mid Niigata Prefecture Earthquake in 2004. The result is shown below.
It can presume on the dune ground the damage rate in Kashiwazaki City. It is in the boundary of the dune and the delta in Matsunami 2. The region where damage was received is located on the delta side. It is thought that the difference of damage originates in the difference of such the ground environment. It is on the old river chiefly road to generate liquidizing in Hashiba district. It is thought that soil that chiefly seemed that a sandy soil it on the old river road was liquidized. Inaba district received damage over two degrees of The Mid Niigata Prefecture Earthquake in 2004 and The Niigataken Chuetsu-oki Earthquake in 2007. Then, the difference of the damage situation by the difference of the house that liquidizing had planned was investigated. And, it was clarified that the situation of damage was different. The subsidence happened to the result of the analysis of T by fill that the thickness of fill decreases as the thickness of fill deeply went to the vicinity of slope by the boundary of Cut soil and fill. And, when damage is large, it is surmisable in the boundary of Cut soil and fill.
