This study aims to understand the trend of office location and to analyze its determinant factors in Nagaoka City.
First, I examined the change of the number of office by zone using statistical data. Recent years, the number of office has been decreasing in whole Nagaoka City, and that is clear in central districts. On the other hand, the number of office has been increased in suburb districts, especially around Nagaoka interchange and along national route 8 and 17.
Then I carried out a questionnaire survey to analyze the determinant factors of office location in those districts that has large increase or decrease in the number of office. As the result of survey, following fact was revealed. 1)The scale of office is relatively large and the sphere of office's material transportation is wide in the district that has increase in the number of office. 2)In these district, about 75% office have moved from other place and the reason of the move is expansion of their business and lower utility for transportation. 3)In office decreasing district, they have dissatisfaction at transportation facilities.
