An Examination About Community Transportation in Mountainous Area ¡ÝA Case Study in Yamakoshi, Nagaoka City¡Ý

Nowadays, the service level decrease and the abolition of public traffic are serious in mountainous areas, even thought there is a community bus as a way of the mobility securing in these regions. However, the needs of the residents may be affected by the opportunities of daily life activities that are provided by the public transportation services. Therefore, the resident¡Çs travel behavior and the preference for community bus use are investigated for Yamakoshi in this research.
The trip data is collected in the real situation during one week in Yamakoshi. The choice factors of transportation are considered and the disaggregate logit model is applied based on this data. In addition, the proposal of new transportation system is showed and the demand is estimated by using the proposed model.
