The Experimental Proof and Evaluation of Fertilizer Response of Slag Fertilizer that Makes Sewage Sludge Ash Raw Material

Shuji HIMENO , Toshiya KOMATSU

Phosphorus is a valuable exhaust resource. Using incinerator sewage sludge ash as a substitute for rock phosphate is an important process for creating a recycling-based society because phosphorus of the same level with phosphate rock is included in sewage sludge ash. The cultivation examination was done in the indoor jar examination and the field in this research, and whether it applied to an examination and a real environment of fertilizer response and environmental safety of a slag fertilizer was investigated.
The results of content test of the slag fertilizer are contained high phosphoric acid to growth of crops, and fulfilled the standard value of heavy metals content of Fertilizer Control Criteria. The result of content test on the crops which treated with the slag fertilizer confirmed safety because the heavy metals were below the Food Sanitation Law allowance cap. And there were accumulative amounts to the soil only a little because the heavy metals in the slag fertilizer did not elute to the soil.
It was suggested the slag fertilizer be to apply from the above-mentioned even in a real environment.
