An improvement study for night time image recognition

Atsushi RIKIMARU

Grasping the situation of damages immediately after the disasters is important to make the action for mitigating the damages or preventing the damages of secondary disasters. In case of the disasters which happened in the night, grasping the situation of damages is difficult due to decrease of the object recognition in an image. Therefore, the acquisition of images which have the high object recognition in night is desired.
The objective of this study is to improve the object recognition in the night images. The improvement in the object recognition was studied using the visible and thermal infrared images which were acquired after the sunset. As the improvement processing in the object recognition, the frame accumulation, the spatial accumulation and the wavelength accumulation processes were carried out for the visible image. And the fusion processing between the visible and the thermal infrared images were performed
