Development and Application of the Hydrological Data Management Module towards Practical Utilization of a Distributed Runoff Model

Mianjio LU

In recent years, the flood damages in small local rivers have being occurred frequently, and it has a new appreciation of the necessity for soft measures, such as flood prediction. The objective of this study is to make the utilization of our distributed runoff model easy. This study includes two parts. The first is the development of the distributed runoff prediction model. The second is the development of the hydrological data-module for a distributed type model.

In the first part, the distributed runoff prediction model developed performs flood prediction of two or more steps using the real-time data and predicted data. In the second part, functions about making the distribution of space-time hydrological data, data management, and data adjustment are unified into a comprehensive hydrological data management module. This largely eases the use of our distributed type model. And it becomes possible to a broad user community to use our model. In this research, the runoff analyses are conducted to check the performance of this module.
