Effects of Employing Many Ground-observed Precipitation Data on Correcting Radar Precipitation with Them

Toshiro KUMAKURA

Radarˇˇprecipitation corrected by ground observations, like to Radar-AMeDAS precipitation analysis by Japan Meteorological Agency is a useful tool to know the horizontal distribution of the precipitation.

In this study, we guess that newly proposed spatial and temporal RMSE( Root Mean Square Error) are effective on quantifying the errors to correct radar precipitation.

We found that the RMSE indexes work well as same as the past studies and the quality control of ground observations of the precipitation is very important to obtain more accurate results.
