Research on performance evaluation of concrete surface coating method against chloride ion
SupervisorFTakumi SHIMOMURA
Nowadays, the use of surface coating and impregnating materials as a concrete surface coating method are applied to concrete structure to enhance its durability. In this study, the shielding effect of these materials against chloride ion is evaluated.
Regarding the surface coating materials, the influence of material defect on the shielding effect against chloride ion is quantitatively evaluated by electric erosion test and numerical mathematics. In addition, the relationship between the pore structure of coating materials and the shielding effect against chloride ion and electric erosion test are experimentally examined.
For the surface impregnating materials, shielding mechanism against chloride ion of waterproof material is again examined from shielding performance in water saturated condition and densification of concrete pore structure.
