Estimate for Pull-out Resistance of Long-range Fixed Anchor using Finite Difference Methods

Takaya KAINO

The long-range fixed anchor is used for caisson works. However, it is not known exactly skin friction resistance that occurs between long-range fixed anchor and surrounding soil. In this study, anchor models from results of tests by Honda and Iijima were analyzed with finite difference methods for confirming that the analyses answer to results of tests, estimating dynamics behavior and the pull-out resistance of the long-range fixed anchor.

The followings are the main results obtained by this study.
(1)In case of obtaining skin friction-displacement curve in soil, the pull-out load-displacement curve is estimated by finite difference methods.
(2)As analyses of the long-range fixed anchor using skin friction-displacement curve in this study, the ultimate pull-out load increase approximately in proportion to fixed anchor length.
