Study on the Land and Building Use and the Change in Shopping District at Commercial District in Kashiwazaki City

Recently, the decline of the central area has been actualized as a problem of local city. As the cause, there is an external factor such as suburbanization but also internal change is a critical factor. Therefore this study grasps the present land and building use in the whole area of the commercial district in Kashiwazaki City. And, this study aims to clarify the change in the store composition of shopping district, the situation of empty store, the relation between the rights of land and building and the store composition as a problem involved in the shopping district.
We clarify that the diversity of the commercial type has been lost in the shopping district, the commercial type for young people has decreased especially, and there are a lot of shops with a simple right relation, and many of empty stores are not marketable.
The use of a small-scale empty store is important to induce the commercial type for young people in the future. And, it is necessary to use empty stores by the effort of each shopping district or person with rights, now though there are a lot of empty store not marketable.
