Study about Skin Friction Resistance of Long-range Fixed Anchor Length
Takaya KAINO
The long-range fixed anchor is used in cases of sinking the huge caisson etc. However, it is not known exactly skin friction resistance that occurs between long-range fixed anchor and surrounding soil. In this study, for the purpose of estimating skin friction resistance distribution of long-range fixed anchor length, I did pull-out model tests focus attention on depth by means of quasi fixed anchor (length: 1 meter, diameter: 140 millimeter) and quasi ground (gravel, sand with gravel and fine sand). In addition, the pull-out tests were done both a combination of cases that loaded quasi ground with vertical load (360kN) and not one. The followings are the main results obtained by this study.
(1) In pull-out tests of cases that did not load quasi ground with vertical load, each relationship with displacement of fixed anchor and skin friction resistance are different greatly by the kind of soil.
(2) In pull-out tests of quasi gravel ground, ultimate skin friction resistance and residual skin friction resistance are different greatly by existence of load pressure.
(3) As a result of pull-out test of a case that loaded quasi gravel ground with vertical load, ultimate skin friction resistance falls within a recommended range of the standard Japanese Geotechnical Society.
