Experimental study on Optimum Asphalt Content of the Large Aggregate Asphalt Mixture

We previously reported aggregate design method of large aggregate asphalt mixture. It resists wheel load by good interlocking of aggregate. However, suitable optimum asphalt content (OAC) for this aggregate design has not been clarified.
This study was performed to determine OAC of large aggregate asphalt mixture by following laboratory examination, and evaluate rutting resistance.

Result of comparing between recommended asphalt mixture by NAPA and this study; the asphalt mixture on this study is more excellent in rutting resistance than other.
In conclusion, the present study has demonstrated mix design of excellent large aggregate asphalt mixture in rutting.
