Estimation of The Truck OD Matrix by Using The Observed Traffic Counts Data

Kazushi SANO

The truck OD matrix is necessary to evaluate the truck policy. So, This study aims to make the truck OD matrix with higher precision by using the observed traffic counts which consists of two models. The first model converts the goods OD matrix into the truck OD matrix. It makes this truck OD matrix the initial OD matrix. It is characteristic of this model to divide truck trip into three trips. The truck matrix is combined three trips. The second model estimates the initial OD matrix from the observed traffic counts data that can be obtained from the traffic counter or link count survey easily. The estimation method is maximum entropy technic.
The subject of this study is Nagaoka Metoropolitan. The number of links are 524. The number of nodes are 162.
It was improved the truck OD matrix. The number of observed links affects the precision of the estimated truck OD matrix. And the initial OD matrix of importance be confirmed. If the initial OD matrix of importance is high precision, the estimated truck OD matrix is high precision too.
