Extraction of the Information of Agricultural Meteorology by Thermal Environmental Analysis Using Satellite Data

Atsushi RIKIMARU, Yukio MUKAI

At present, in the domestic agricultural organization, the stable production of the high quality rice is demanded. One of the production conditions at the high quality rice has a weather condition. Specifically, that the temperature and the hours of sunshine and so on have a big influence is known. Since the agricultural organization is performing the growth prediction and yield prediction in consideration of the influence of the weather, the meteorological observation is indispensable. However, because it is the data of the point, the meteorological observation in the ground the representative of which is AMeDAS doesn't always often agree with the weather in the actual agricultural land.
In this study, it calculated the regression expression from the relation of the land surface temperature, which the satellite observes, and the temperature data of the ground observation and it estimated spatial distribution with temperature. Then, it extracted the information of agricultural meteorology from the gotten temperature distribution. The satellite data used the MODIS-LST data that the ground resolution is about 1km. The ground observational data used AMeDAS temperature data. As the information of agricultural meteorology, it made the spatial distribution of day and night temperature amplitude, and the effective heat unit summation based on the average temperature.
It is related with the grasping of the area where there is production possibility of the high quality rice, which was seen from the thermal environment, by grasping the spatial distribution of the day and night temperature amplitude. The calculation of the effective heat unit summation did not have a big difference between a case of using the satellite data, and case of using only the AMeDAS data.
