Examine of Optimization of Rice Growth by Vegetation Coverage and the Spectral Characteristics

Yukio MUKAI, Atsushi RIKIMARU

@Recently, rice farming aims high quality rice production, good harvest, and labor saving. In rice farming, it is desirable to diagnose the growth of rice by the early growth stage. The technology that expands the ground data such as growth survey data and soil survey data is requested however a lot of time and labor are necessary for growth survey and soil survey. Then, use of excellent satellite data in wide-ranging information acquisition is examined. In this study, it was experimented aiming at the dissemination that became possible use to the remote sensing information by measurement on the ground. As a result, it was clarified to be able to presume the nitrogen content of rice per unit area using rice vegetation coverage. So, amount of topdressing at panicle formation stage might be able to be decided by rice vegetation coverage.
