A study on prediction of a freeze dangerous place by the thermal map

Teruhiko MARUYAMA

In the snow cold area the traffic is influenced by weather conditions, so the traffic is influenced by life of people in this area and deceased transport capacity. Spraying of a antifreeze is the most effective technique to a freeze dangerous place as the road management. However, it is difficult to grasp a freeze dangerous place only with the fixed-point observation equipment currently installed in every place. Therefore, in real work, the spraying timing of a antifreeze is determined based on experience of a road administrator and an operator, and the amount of spraying has attained to most quantity. Then, the research have been proposed the system which rationalizes the amount of antifreeze spraying in an every place point and timing by grasping the freeze dangerous place over one route.
The run examination have been carried out on R-17 in Yuzawa. The thermal map prediction model was built in accordance with this data and the observation data based on the fixed point observation equipment currently installed in the route. Moreover, the neural network was used for the algorithm of the prediction model.
From the calculation result of the prediction model, rationalization of the amount of antifreeze spraying and timing was performed. The antifreeze spraying part in one route was expressed with time transition by having decided on the effective time of it. In response to these results, the practicality of this research was shown as examination of the winter road surface management technique in actual business.
