Bond Properties between PC bar and Concrete under Cyclic Loading

�@Seismic performance of PC members is greatly influenced by the bond characteristics between PC bars and concrete. For dynamic response analyses of PC members, several hysteretic models of members have been developed referring to the experimental results. Such models could be good for the similar PC members to the experimental ones, but the applicability of models is limited. For extending the response analyses more in general, it is necessary to establish the constitutive model for bond characteristics of PC bars.

�@The objective of this study is to reveal what happens in PC bars and bond characteristics when PC members bear cyclic loading in tension over the yield deformation of PC bars. The test results show that the prestress loss is caused depending upon the total plastic deformation of PC bars, and that the bond between PC bars and concrete is easily diminished after yielding of PC bars.
