Many studies have been published on snowfall phenomena of Japan Sea area today. The maximum snow depth and the total snow amount represent the seasonal snowfall phenomena have not yet been parameterized. In this study, the distribution map of the correlation between the maximum snow depth or the total snow intensity in NAGAOKA and the metrological parameter is obtained. Then, following results are obtained.
1) There is a close relation to temperature and a cold air mass in near the Korean Peninsula, and the size of the cold air mass have big influence on the snowfall situation of NAGAOKA.
2) There is a close relation to wind speed of westerlies, and the snowfall situation of NAGAOKA is determined by where the belt of westerlies is located.
